Regarding course enrollment in the Graduate Major in Materials and Information Sciences
To select the Graduate Major in Materials and Information Sciences, you must pass both the “Admission to Doctoral Degree Program Commencing in September 2025 Institute of Science Tokyo” and the “Graduate Major in Materials and Information Sciences Eligibility Screening” at our university.
If you wish to enroll in this graduate major, please be sure to consult with the Intended academic supervisor and complete both the application for the “Application for Admission to Doctoral Degree Program Commencing in September 2025 Institute of Science Tokyo” and the Application for Eligibility Screening for the Graduate Major in Materials and Information Sciences.
STEP1 Apply for the entrance examination for the doctoral program at Science Tokyo
Please apply for the entrance examination for the doctoral program at Institute of Science Tokyo.

STEP2 Apply for the eligibility screening for the graduate major
Check the the guideline.
Consult with your intended academic supervisor and prepare and submit the application form.
Request that your intended academic supervisor prepare and submit a Letter of Recommendation and Consent.
Then complete and submit an application form by the application deadline.

| Application eligibility | Master’s students from outside Institute of Science Tokyo who meet both of the following criteria (1) and (2) （１）Students who plan to enter the Science Tokyo doctoral degree program in April 2026. （２）Students who plan to belong to one of the following departments after enrolling in the doctoral degree program Physics / Chemistry / Electrical and Electronic Engineering / Computer Science / Materials Science and Engineering / Chemical Science and Engineering / Life Science and Technology / Transdisciplinary Science and Engineering |

Important: The intended academic supervisor of a student enrolling in this graduate major must be assigned as the major’s principal or secondary instructor by the time of the student’s application to the doctoral degree program.
STEP3 Take a screening test/interview

STEP4 Enroll in doctoral program and take the Graduate Major in Materials and Information Sciences
Students who have passed the eligibility screening of the graduate major and the entrance examinations for doctoral degree program can enroll in this graduate major.
