Finally, the ceremony concluded with words from student representatives of each academy. On behalf of the TAC-MI graduate, Yu Fukunaga commented “Today, we are entering a new stage in our lives. People will expect us to contribute to the advancement of science, technology, and society. The rapid progress of science and technology has had both positive and negative impacts. As PhD graduates, we have the responsibility to address the social problems that science and technology create. I believe it is also science and technology that can overcome these challenges. We are ready for this journey. Through the TAC-MI program, which includes classes, lab rotations, practice school, and international internships, we have learned how to combine materials and informatics. In international forums, we have also discovered how to create social services using research from a broad perspective with researchers having different backgrounds. We are not alone. Thanks to our activities in TAC-MI, we have formed lifelong connections with professors, friends, and staff. We are confident that we can collaborate and create more innovations. We promise to continue learning and to do our best for the improvement of science, technology, and society. Finally, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to my friends, family, professors, and the TAC-MI staff. Thank you very much for your attention.”
